617-6 6in
Have a chance to get this the gun is an excellent condition with the original Box and paperwork, he wants to trade for my sig P320 with an AXG frame and a regular slide with night nightlight. I'm not really into 22s but this revolver is beautiful

I have no idea what the Sig is worth on the trade but I do know you won't regret getting the 617. I have the same gun in a 4 inch and its 10 rounds of enjoyment!

You will never regret getting a 617. Probably will be your most used range gun. Never heard of anyone who didn't like one.

Options
The S&W 617 is an option for me to practice
and shoot on the cheap, and sometimes
when I don’t want to shoot my big bores.
An important option that transitions to my
other S&W revolvers easily.
The Best to you and your Endeavors.

I also have a 617-6 as well as my son's SIG P320 in the safe. For me there is no question that I would choose the revolver over the polymer nine. Maybe its a generational thing because I also believe the same striker fired polymer nine is his kind of dream gun and the .22 revolver is a Fudd toy. I'd still grab the 617 and never look back...

I think the retail on the sig is a little more than the s&w but, the sig p320 will probably never have the classic status of even the model 617 keyhole versions which are becoming more valuable too…..I have Sigs and a pre-lock 617 and it would be a hard felt loss but, I would let my sig p220 go before my 617, and I own 3 other s&w rimfire revolvers too…they are just amazing guns…a guy could do all that is needed if he had to with a rimfire IMO…
If you are attached strongly to your sig p320, you could pass and put a little away each month and buy a 617 outright so you can keep the sig….the 617 will stay in production for quite awhile IMO….cheers and good luck!

I bought a brand new 617-6 about a month go. It sure is a nice pistol.
I am 63 and cannot believe I did not buy one years ago. I shot all day Saturday for $50.00. Cannot have that kind of fun with any other cal pistol. MD
