I was at a local shop today and spied a 6" model 14-6 with a faint turn line. Price was $499 good or bad?

Hello,
Assume it is a full underlugged M14, right?
If so, I'd say the price is good, pretty very good. These aren't showing up too often these days, and are highly sought after, IMO.

I don't see many but the ones I find are generally pretty loose.

Did it look like this:
I know this is a -7 but it should look like this, if it same as new the going price would be up near 700+.

Three years ago (in this forums Classifieds) I sold my 6" LNIB 14-6 with beautiful oiled grips for $450. Box and all the papers were perfect.
It would be worth considerably more than that now.

The old boys pay better than a saving account, Landpimp could have doubled his money today. A new Smith is one heck of a Saving acount. If you got a new Chevy in 68 and not drove it, it would be worth 10 times what you payed for it. Then with the RSR and others that have 250 maded will go up and up when someone else shoots thiers and then there is only 1 to 20 of them that is new in the box down the road ten to twenty years  .

I bought one here in California for $425 - no box. It was a -5 variant, and it had the wooden combats on it.
It's a great shooter! Neat gun.
