I've been trying to decide what I want to get for a carry handgun, again. I have carried a small 9mm semi auto for years and carried a fullsize nice 1911 for a year or so.
I think I like the 327 performance center scandium revolver. I've never held it though. At 20oz it would seem heavy enough for me to fire .357 magnum at close range plus give me 8 rounds of it. Then I always have the choice to shoot .38 special. Plus, marlin makes a nice 1894 lever rifle that would go great with the revolver.
Does anyone here have an opinion about these?
I like the older heavier revolvers too. I was looking at a nice 3" 610 but it was crazy expensive for a used gun. I like that I had a choice between the cheap .40 s&w or 10mm. I looked at a couple .44magnums, but they are pretty heavy and only have 6 rounds.

This one is carried allot. It is very accurate with both 38's and 357's and comforting to carry with 8 rounds. It is one gun that I will keep and would replace it in a heartbeat should something happen to it.

thanks for the reply. i think i'm going to order one. i have held the 627pd and the 629 and they felt nice and light. this one is several onces lighter than either of those and the grip looks smaller.

My favorite carry. Go for it. Easy to conceal.

I ask because I purchased one this morning and plan on having that done or doing it.

BTW, the hammer on ENH's 327 is bobbed by himself or an smith, i don't think you can buy a boobed hammer for the PC327.

They won't void the warranty for bobbing the hammer do they? If the trigger pull is nice I think I will bob mine.

kwikrnu - A friend and master handgun smith did mine. It does not void the warranty, read my post on the cracked frame on my 396, S&W reused my hammer and parts. The hammer is MIM and does not take cold bluing well, but can be done with satisfying results. S&W or Mag Na Port will bob the hammer, but if you have someone local it will save time. It really makes this gun easy to carry in most pockets. I use the Concealed Clothiers Pocket Pouch to protect the pocket. I am waiting for 8 round speed strips now from Tuff products. If wearing a vest or jacket the moon clips can be carried. You'll want tools for the moon clips. A nice small inexpensive holster that fits the barrel perfectly is the JIT slide from Don Hume. I also have the S&W holster, it very well made and conceals well. These short 327's shoot far better than one would expect.

I appreciate the info. I did read the thread on the cracked frame. I also read another about the flame shield and people cutting their top straps. I figure that if I have any problems s&w will make it right and besides no one makes a big lightweight revolver like this.
