3" M66 Search Over
I gave up the waiting and searching (tough this time of the year to spend much time searching with a seasonal business,) re-afirmed I'm not getting any younger, that my BDay is next Sunday and paid way too much for what I think and hope will be a great 3" M66. Several days shipping and a week in MD's jail and I should have it next week.
I already have a Kramer IWB that'll fit and ordered one of their MSP paddle holsters too.
I thank (blame?) the fellow member who writes, "You didn't pay too much, you bought too early!"
I hope the seller's photo works:

I think when we get to be “a certain age” we realize that in some purchases a little extra expense is not the end of the world. The 3-inch 66 was on my list for quite a few years, then I found two nice ones within a month of each other. Having no need of two, I was able to “share” one with a good friend. Happy birthday, in advance, and enjoy your new Model 66! The money spent will probably soon be forgotten.

Good for you JP. I feel like I’m one of the enablers. Now I know where you can buy this 3 inch Model 19. Haha

Definitely an enabler! And thanks for trying to keep me in budget. The 3" M66 that sold here last week was the last straw.
A 3" M19 is my grail gun. To me, the sexiest of all revolvers. If you're serious about knowing where one is available, I'm interested.
Looking at the photo, you picked that one up at a gun show, right?
John

Congrats on a cool piece. I couldn't afford the open sights, so I settled for a 65-5LS with fixed sights. Looks like the same gun, but with different sights.

Congrats.... the 3" 66 has been my favorite revolver since 1988. Back then they were about $270 out the door in central Pa.
IMO adding a set of Spegel Boot grips makes it the perfect everyday carry revolver!!!!

Same here, for 3" barreled K-frames his standard boots fit the bill....

Yes, I do, but my friend needed one. He’s more important than having one for my left hand.

IMHO the 3" k-frame has the same/very similar proportions of butt and barrel to frame as a 3 1/2" N-frame...... giving them, especially the 66/19, the same eye pleasing lines as a 3 1/2" 27..... only easier to carry!

What something is worth is in the eyes of the buyer. I’ve “over-paid” a couple of times and was happy to do so for exactly what I wanted in the condition I wanted. Years later what I paid was an absolute steal with current prices, more limited availability and being a vintage gun.
Looks like you got a great piece with all the goodies too! Enjoy it!

Hey Bam Bam-The one pair of Spegels I own fit the XXL hands I’m blessed with. Love them. So do the several pairs of Culina Combats I have on my other K-frames. Both of them are true craftsmen. Factory targets on my 4 and 6 inch guns seem to work the best for me. Factory combats not so much. Just my personal preference.

Nice, is yours the one with the Hi-Viz front sight?
That's a cool gun, never paid much attention to mine until I re-read the brochure and realized it had a 3.2" barrel.....!!
(Got rid of the Hi-Viz, never warmed to that front sight... )
Here's mine...
Enjoy......

Got my first set back in the mid-80s for a 3" 65 I was tricking out like all the cool kids in the Gun Rags. Kept adding sets over the years J,K,L,N..... not sure how many I have now..... but am sure it's less than Smithnut!!!!!!
Factory targets never seem to fit my hand..... they force my little finger away from my ring finger

Neither of you guys like the factory combats, I love them!
And Vitoonwood/Vitoonmakers K frame combats are a close match at about 40% of the cost.

JP-To be clear I love round butt factory combats. The square butt combats just some how don’t feel right to me. But I guess that’s why they make several styles.

BAM-BAM and SmithNut, you guys are killing me showing your fine Spegel grips! I think I am on his list, and hope my name gets called sooner than later. I don't own a 3" K frame, but his boot grips sure look perfect on them.

I think when the charge hits your card you’re there, but Ok, ok…
I did MD and federal paperwork today and snapped a few pics. One week of MD jail before I can pick it up, but I got my mitts on it.
I don’t believe it’s been fired outside of the factory. That will change.
Box, paper, tools, literature all there.
ETA: I’ll ad how I find it odd how adjustable sight make a revolver seem much larger than the fixed sight equivalent. And an extractor rod shroud too. For example, this M66 3” seems significantly larger than a 3” M64 I have, and a bit larger than an M65 LS, which is fixed sights but has and extractor rod shroud. Or how a 3” M64 or M10, or the M65 LS seem smaller than my 2 1/2” M19s or M66.
