Default Grips for 629… all weather. ???

After much back and forth i decided today to carry my 7.5 inch 629 to Alaska with me. I’ve never shot it with no scope until today and i was lights out with it. Could not hit **** with buddy’s Glock 10mm (g20).

So… I’d like to pick up some rubberized textured grips for all weather, bloody hands, sweat, you name it. The wood grips have always felt a bit narrow (L to R) in my hands, but certainly okay. Point being thickening then you just a little bit would be okay.

Suggestions?

I forgot… no way to post picture here unless it’s hosted elsewhere. Frustrating. Or I’m missing something… quite possible.

If it's a round butt, I highly recommend the Hogue Tamers as used on the X-frames. They fit the K, L & N frame round butt guns. Can be had through Amazon.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Even the regular Hogue rubber grips would be a huge improvement over the stock wood Altamonts that came on your gun. They're all show and no go. My two 629s that get shot the most actually wear Hogue wood grips. They fit my hand and absorb recoil well.

All of my S&W revivers wear hogue hardwood grips ,I like how the feel and look
It’s also nice to have the consistency from revolver to revolver

Glad to hear it’s not in my head. I shoot the gun like a damn tech driver. But I bought it has a purpose built Deer Hunter. Shooting today in semi quick fire she got kind of wobbly and I just didn’t feel that good.

Grips are a personal thing. Everyone's hands are a little different.

There is no getting around the fact you are going to have to experiment a little until you find the right grips for you.

10-4.

I’m not looking for perfection. It’s obvious that the ec cribs I have are miserable when it comes to quick fire. Anything will be an improvement. Just trying to figure out what to buy an a short time frame, Plus provide more texture leave it in my hands are wet, Or buddy or sweaty or I’m just frazzled. Forget about size. Just looking for a good rubber grip that Matches my 629 and if it happens to be a little bit thicker that’s great.

The Hogue that cover the back strap work well if you have a round butt frame. S&W K, L, N, X, Z Frame Round Butt Rubber Tamer Conversion Monogrip Black - X/Z-Frame Revolvers - Grips for Smith & Wesson - Handgun Grips - Hogue Products
