Found a new 27
I went into LGS today and asked about any S&Ws, thinking used wheel guns, or perhaps ordering one. Dude behind the counter said hang on; comes back out with a new Mod. 27. Gun looks pretty sharp, and I like Magna stocks, so I put it on layaway. I'll probably pick it up within the month of October so I can shoot it before cold kicks in. Pretty impressed with the blueing. Now I have something to look forward to, besides the new fence I've been waiting on.
Now, what to sell?

I'm pretty sure it's a -9. Has the hole. I was doing my best checking what I could minus tools, mainly eyeballing the gap and cylinder operation through every chamber.

I just picked up my 27-9 PC 4" today. Gun really feels good in hand (that's what sold me on the gun) and the blueing is extremely nice. The only thing iffy is the wood stocks. I like Magnas that are on it, but they look like they're plastic. Maybe I can treat the wood with some treatment, clear coat, whatever. The trigger could be better for sure. Gonna try to shoot it tomorrow; at least some .38 Spls.
Okay, I know: pictures! I'll do my best, but this Apple doesn't play well with this website. My other Apple will work with this site but I can't put pictures on it from my phone, which is my only camera. Presently these are the biggest problems I have in life so I won't sweat it!

Well, the good & the bad today. I took the gun up to the shooting range but only had .38 Spl. No biggie. Box of 50 FMJ. about 3rd reload I noticed a sliver of steel gone from the rear of the barrel; 2:00 position to 4:00. I shot the rest of the box with no problems. It's a heck of a lot more accurate than I am. Single action on that trigger pull thing averaged pretty much < 3# every time I checked and about 11 1/2# double action. Back down to the gun shop tomorrow. They're one of the best shops in the area and pretty popular smithing capabilities, so I'll trust them to make it good.
(This thread kinda goes with a thread a few threads above regarding, I believe, a model 627. I've tried not to step on that thread.)

You mean that part of the forcing cone or the rifling is now gone?
