Default Which Finish of the Governor Do I Get

My father wants a Governor, and I am going to gift him one. Which finish holds up better? The black version, with the front night sight, is only about $40 more. So it really is kind of a wash on price. I am not worried about carbon stains on the front of the silver cylinder.

We have been 625 shooters for years so we are very familiar with 45acp revolvers. My dad just wants one.

Can't offer an assessment on which finish would hold up better. Can say that my "silver" one has lived in this holster a couple years now and has lots of miles being carried in it. Shows a little holster wear but nothing that bothers me. Probably can't go too wrong with either.
