Default Removing 460 extractor rod

I am trying to remove the extractor rod from my 460 magnum XVR. I have read 500 Magnum Nut’s very informative information regarding this procedure on the X frame. He suggests using a drill chuck to grip the rod and rotate it clockwise. I removed the knurled nut with no problem using the clockwise rotation but have not been able to remove the extractor rod with a drill chuck. I’m using a very good quality drill chuck made for use on a metal lathe and seem to have a very good grip on the rod but I just can’t get the rod to move. I am using a clockwise rotation. Any ideas?
