A couple of years ago I saw on Gunbroker two 625 3" 45 Acp revolvers come up for sale. They were engraved with "Banknote" and a dollar sign as well as alot of scroll. The seller said it was "factory" issued, just wondering if anyone has any info on these. Was not interested at the time, now I am - go figure.

From the SCSW;
Model 625-4 American Historical Foundation Bank Note Edition: 100 manufactured and engraved.

Wish I had one.

Thanks Hoot, seems like an odd edition but they looked kind of cool.

Perhaps this gun was designed to appeal to wealthy bankers.

Perhaps this gun was designed to appeal to wealthy bankers.

Or those who wanted to be a "wealthy banker"...

"wealthy banker" is not a term of endearment these days. I would guess more than one is 'watching his backside' and might wish he had one of these little numbers along for the ride.

Yes, wealthy bankers are not looked upon with favor these days. Given all the thievery going on, I'm sure more than one wealthy banker is packing heat these day.

Default Bank Notes

The BANKNOTE 45 was not factory engraved, 100 625-4 were purchased by THE AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION and engraved by their craftsman and purchased for $2200 in the 90's. Unfired with paperwork and factory box along with THE AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION presentation / handling case, I have no knowledge of value.
