I looked around and didn't see anything on this revolver. I am interested in buying one, but would like other's opinions. I realize recoil might be a little "stiff", but recoil has never bothered me that much in 40 some years of shooting. If this has been asked before, sorry. I am new to the site. Planned to carry a lot, shoot little.
Thanks much

Welcome, you'll find great people and good answers here for the most part. I love the 396NG even though I have had a few problems, see the thread below and on page 3. The recoil is nothing with the factory rubber pachmyer grips and only stings a little with my preferred carry stocks from Spegel. I shoot allot of Georgia arms 200Gr Gold Dots and will reload them when I have enough cases to bother setting up my Dillon for 44spl. There have been several reports of FTF, but this is solved by replacing the factory firing pin with the C&S long pin or others. If you have problems S&W will send you a UPS shipping label for free shipping and will take care of any thing you may have go wrong. This is an easy revolver to carry and shoots fantastic.

If you don't mind my asking, who worked on your gun. I noticed you bobbed the hammer and ported the barrel.

Also, I haven't seen any of the NG's up close. How easy are they to conceal. I am looking at either getting the 315 (I like the lighter recoil of the .38), the 396 or the 325. I'm looking more at the latter two due to performance.
