A few years ago I assisted my friend and mentor, George Form, in the sale of his vast knife collection, and what was left of his guns ,from a store he used to own in Hialeah Florida in the 1960s' .

There was a 16x16 foot storage space packed to the rafters with bins.
Georges whole life was in there.
Note: he was a life long cigar smoker ,who at the time was losing his battle with throat cancer.
He needed to sell all his old treasures to help finance his battle , and assist his wife financially.

After all was said and done I ended up with this 686. It was unsaleable because of its condition.
It has sat in a drawer for 3 or so years now. It has been cannibalized for any usable parts ,
but the pictures tell the story .
. Bubba the South Florida Cuban had his way with this 686-3.

Pictures tell the story. There was some imitation gold chain pounded into the grooves that were ground into the cylinder that really gave this piece its 'flavor' .

George passed in 05 ,and God rest his soul, I'll miss him.

Regards ,,,,Alle N-Frame

I have a side plate, cylinder, barrel, hammer and trigger and the rest of the guts. With a little tig welding and a little sanding it would look like new . want to sell it?

That's worse than the Python on one of the auction sites now with a bobbed hammer, and some idiot hacksawed the rib clean off of the barrel. Priced at only $799 too !

I once saw a Dan Wesson .357 that was probably done by this man, or his brother.

I am no great admirer of DWs, but I actually felt sorry for the poor thing. Kind of feel a little sorry for the guy who thinks he is improving these guns, too. I have seen some butchered .45 Autos here and there that I thought were pretty bad but your 686 beats them all.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. For me, after the pain of the loss subsides, the good memories can be a great comfort. Hope they are for you, too.

What happened to the side plate? Was it going to be a "cutaway" display model or something?

The horrible things people can do to fine firearms never ceases to amaze me.

A Hello Kitty 226? I think I'm gonna be sick.
Actually, the perfect carry gun. You pull it, and while the bad guy is splitting his side laughing, you make a clean getaway. He wouldn't dare shoot you, he'd be too afraid the blood spatter would contain HIV.
