Model: 160360

I'm seeing online ads claiming there were only 150 made.

Find that hard to believe.

Anyone know for sure?

Hi, The model 360 series was introduced in 2001 and is still being made. The 360 is a .38 spl+P the 360PD is a .357 magnum revolver. If you go to the S&W website and look under 360 you will see the same gun as a production model stock number 160360 the 360PD stock number is 163063.
So to answer your question NO the gun is not a special run it is offered as a standard production model and YES there are more than 150 of them made. hope this helps.

I know that they were a limited run, the S&W site says that model is a "Bill Hicks Exclusive". They're a big distributor and I've always assumed they comissioned S&W to build X number of them because it'a a .38spl built on the M&P360 frame (per S&W). I'm sure there were a lot more than 150 made, otherwise I don't think Bud's would have been selling them for $409 and I wouldn't have used one for a 9mm conversion. If you really want to know numbers you could probably call Bill Hicks (800-223-0702 )and they could tell you how many they ordered. If you find anything out let us know.

Regardless of who, what, why, or how many, I think these guns were/are a helluva deal. Had I known how much I would like it I'd have ordered two when I got mine!
