Does anyone make a low profile thumppiece (cylinder latch) for a J Frame? Thx.

If you could find one of the early "flat latch" releases, I think that is about as low of profile as you can get.
The other option is to buy a spare one like is on your gun and a good set of files!

It's funny you say that - I was just handling my friend's old M36 with a flat latch and thinking the same thing.

Any ideas where to find one? My Google search came up empty.

I don't believe that the flat latch is interchangeable with later models.It attaches to the bolt differently.uses a screw,not a cap nut.
