620 Question

I'm hoping some folks out there can enlighten me. If the 620 is supposed to replace the 66/65 models, how does it differ from the prior models other than a 7 round cyl and a 2 piece barrel? Is it just another L frame?

It's just another L frame, the gun it "replaced" was a K.

I think it is a L frame with a half lug.
