Hi friends,
My daughter carries a 442 with CT grip. She keeps it in her purse but is thinking about belt carry (paddle). Does anyone have a recommendation for her? I think she would like Kydex but leather suggestions welcome too.
Thanks and stay safe.

Uncle Mikes makes a kydex for J frame. I have one; it is ok but rides fairly far out off the belt. Probably best suited for use under bulky or loosely fitted garments and not too good for concealment as such.

I generally carry my 442 in a De Santis pocket holster.

Range Rat: My daily carry rig is a 442 with CT grips in a carbon-fiber Blackhawk Serpa paddle holster. The Serpa is a great holster--lightweight, easy to carry and conceal, with a positive retention system to ensure the gun doesn't slip out accidentally. I don't have any shots of the holster with the 442, but here it is with a 342 wearing the same CT 405 lasergrips:

The Serpa comes with both a belt slide attachment and a paddle. I much prefer the paddle for the convenience of being able to put it on and take it off quickly.

The Serpa is very economical and, in my area anyway, is easily found.

I would have one caution, she should practice drawing as the lock system tends to place your trigger finger right on the trigger during the draw which could cause AD's.

Comp-tac or FIST make some great Kydex for the J frame. I am not a very big fan of the Serpa or any retention for CONCEALED carry. Under stressful situations you can easily miss the button/snap and within that split second, the bad guy could win. Just keep things simple. Draw and fire. No buttons/snaps or safeties. Police/LEO need the retention for gun grabs but carrying concealed means the bad guys should not know you are carrying in the first place.

OK, I will check out Comp-tac and FIST too. Thanks for input on her practicing the draw. Thanks all for the help.
