Does anyone have any info. on this pistol? Are these pistols tackdrivers? Does this pistol have a round butt or a square butt? Sorry for the stupid questions.

This is the pistol

Thanks

Update

we recieved two of these pistols one for me and one for my buddy. My buddies was fine but mine was a different story..

The pistol came covered with metal filings everywhere. (I do mean covered everywhere super obvious) The filings came off easy enough but this was only the first of the problems with this pistol. I then dry fired the pistol while aiming at a wall. I immeadiatly noticed that the front sight was crooked (I thought). Upon further inspection it was the barrel. It was clocked way off. I would say at about the 11:30 postion.

We are going to try to return it to the distributor but I doubt they will exchange it. I am pretty sure that I will be stuck sending it back to Smith and Wesson. I cant believe that this pistol was supposedly made in the Custom Shop!! How can they have let it go out of the shop like this! I am very upset with S&W.

If I end up getting stuck sending it back what do you all recomend I write in the letter? Should I ask for them to slick up the action or anything else you guys can think of?

I think all of the new S&Ws have the round butt. I have an older version of this 629-4 and it shoots better then me, But all of my S&W revolvers shoot better then me.

I have an earlier version, a 629-3 and it shoots pretty good.

To the best of my knowledge they are all round butt revolvers.
