Just received my 625JM. Loading the moon clips was difficult but getting the spent cases out seems near impossible! Any help appreciated.

Yes, buy a loading/unloading tool. They are relatively inexpensive and make the job fast and simple.

All the normal mail order places (Dillon's, Brownell's, etc)sells a "de-mooner"). Various types and styles...plan on spending about $20...They are worth their weight in gold!

"Plan B" is to make your own. I spent 99 cents for a used golf club at the thrift shop. If you look at a picture of a commercial demooning tool you will see what you have to do. A few cuts with my Dremel tool and I have a nice tool that holds the empty cases too.

For range use, try RIMZ, which are polymer (plastic) moon clips. You can load and unload them easily by hand. Midway has 'em.
Save the steel clips for carry purposes.

Another vote for the RIMZ clips, they are really easy to load/unload. All I use for my range gun, a 625-8.

As a recent convert to moonclips, I was overwhelmed by the various choices.
After dabbling in the wasteland of various home-made and toy-like gadgets, I finally ponied up the $$ for the 'mooncliptool'....
Got 3 adaptors for it, and it has been well worth the cost, as it works perfectly AND saves me time and hassle.
I use it enough to enjoy the process of 'another well designed specialty tool' aspect.

The cool part about the RIMZ clips is that you can go to the range with only 1 clip and a box of ammo and shoot without using other tools. No need for all the extra stuff!

The SuperDemooner is the best. It demoons two cases per operation, and will empty a moonclip in three squeezes.
I made my own mooner from a .45-70 case and a couple of pieces of scrap plywood.

I made a demooner from a scrap of copper tube and an old piece of radiator hose for a grip. I made a loading tool from scrap found in my workshop. Here's a pic of the prototype, which has since been done over in aluminum.

I don't remember where I first saw it, but someone talked about making a .45 demooner from an old .50 BMG case. I made one by cutting it appropriately with a Dremel. Works great.

Demooners are pretty easy, copper pipe, old golf club, etc. Remooners are a little more complicated.

I don't have any trouble loading up moon clips for for my M1917 and M625. I got the demooner tool from Cheaper Than Dirt. I think it was $7.99. Works great!

You will soon find that some brands or lots of cases moon and demoon more easily than others. Some aluminum Blazer can be difficult even with tools. When I first started shooting with moon clips in the 80's, I always loaded moon clips by hand, without tools, and never had a problem. I would demoon with any aluminum or wood dowel the right size, occasionally even a large pencil.
The tools are certainly easier/faster, but some cases are just more difficult than others.
