I have an unfired S&W 296 revolver in the box with all papers. I received this as a gift and am the first owner. The gun has been out of the box a couple of times for inspection only. I'd like to get an idea of the gun's value. Can anyone offer an educated guess?

Thanks,

S/W - Lifer

There is one on Gunbroker right now with an opening price of $700 and an instant purchase price of $800. It has been fired 10 times, so is "almost new in the box" with (apparently) all the original paraphernalia.

Email sent expressing interest in your 296 should you decide to sell it.

S/W - Lifer: Several months ago I sold a 296 in the same condition as yours (brand new in the box) for $750 to another forum member. I probably could have gotten a lot more for it, because around that same time two other NIB 296's sold on GunBroker for $850 each.
