I LOVE mine. I had two in 357 and one in 41. I never bothered buying the 44 since I am not much of a 44 fan.
The funny thing is that the one I sold to a buddy many years ago showed up as part of a sequential pair that someone on the forum spotted about 4 months ago.

I think 200 of each. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Not that anyone here would correct me though.

SCSW lists about 302 of the 627-PC 8 Shots made. Apparently there were two (or more) serial number prefixes on these. HMA and MCD (or MDC). The HMA prefix went up to 155, and the MCD prefix was used on the American Historical Foundation guns (and non-engraved guns too).
edit: 2 guns with JBS prefixes sold on GB (0004 and 0009), both marked 627-3 with the new style frame that eliminated the cylinder stop stud. Thank you, SmithNut!

Only in our sweet collective dreams, I'm afraid. Might be cheaper to seek out one of the new M27 "Registered" magnums in 3.5".

MACHTECH,
It appears you have 1 627-PC and 3 627-3 versions. I'm trying to track serial number prefixes and ranges, any change you could provide yours.

Now you're just being MEAN. You're trying to hurt us, aren't you? You want to injure us and cause us to twitch and flail with sheer unbridled WANT.
Why (pardon my ignorance) are they called Blood Work guns?

OK, now you are just showing off!
Please continue to!
Please start a thread on your new engraved PC 627, I recall you saying you were getting it, and there being many questions about that gun.

Todd, I bet you liked to tease the other kids in school too. This engraved 627 is better looking then the pics used to originally advertise it, very impressive looking gad. If there ever is another one for sale, I am sure you will get it too. BUT not if I see it first. Cheers!

Todd, just to be clear, if you do, I'll take the broken one in the middle. The ugly one with the hammer sticking out.

on the pc 627 8 times ,i hand polished mine some and it's stunning. the new 27 reg mag in nickel from horton is a very limited run of 150 i believe. i have number 23. the nickel is better than a 73 python i cherish. love the 8 shot moon clips for both of them. i passed on a sequential blue reg mag in 5". mine is 3". not gonna even try to find a bloodworks 357. to much stress and dissapointment. love yours though guys. good fun hoarding them though ,wright?

Jeez, now I want one too! If only S&W would drop the ridiculous lock (side porthole) and start making some of the really cool guns again...

S&W Chad:
I saw one of these today. 627-3, pre-lock, serial number was JBS01xx. It had been fired a little bit, and judging by the little bit of holster wear, carried a little, too. What would be a good "Ballpark" price on one in 96-98% shape, as described, with the PC aluminum case, but no paperwork? Thanks. Paulie686.

I don't know, the prices are goofy on these. I would guess anything less than $1500 is a very good price.

Paulie,
Tough question. This model, at times, seems to command some illogically high prices for who-knows-what the reasons are. You've probably seen the reference to one selling in excess of $3k, and some folks have lucked into them for less than a thousand dollars.
From my perspective, the earlier version (Marked M627PC, but made in the M627-2 engineering change) would command a slightly higher price than the M627-3, but if you are looking for a shooter then either will suffice.
My current recommendation is that if you can find one for $1500 or less you are doing darn well. Many have sold on our forum over the past few years higher than that.

I normally hang out in the lounge area but I stumbled on this thread. It cost me a lot of money on a gun bidding site (I think it was gunbroker) I tried bidding on another one but it got way to high for me, I think the one that I was outbid on went for about $3,500
PS As I recall it when the bidding was only around $1,500 to $1,700 I bid on the second gun without realizing that smith41mag had already bid on it. I felt real bad about bidding against him so if I won it at that bid level I offerd to buy it for the $1,700 or $1,800 that I bid and let him have it for his bid which was about $50 or $100 less. For a while it looked like it was going to happen, there was no bid activity for a long while. But toward the end the bidding got real crazy and I dropped out somewhere in the area of $2,000, I am pretty sure it ended in the mid $3,000 area

PC 627 2 5/8'' Blood Works
Can anyone tell me the years this gun was manufactured along with the number produced each year? Also, I have see one with the serial number RCS00XX. If anyone know what this relates to please inform. S&W told me that it was manufactured in 2002.
Thanks
