I just threw caution to the winds, took a deep breath, and ordered some Nill round-square conversion "coke" targets for my 686-6. Now that I've done it, I'd like to know, do any of you have experience with Nills -- and in particular, their cokes -- and are they truly worth the big bucks that I just paid for my set? Also, how long am I going to have to wait before I have them in my hot size extra large hands?

You should do just fine with the Knills. And if , for some crazy reason, they don't work out for you, you can turn them around and get your money back.
Someone will jump at them if you put them up for sale.

I have two pair and a set of their coke re-pros on order!
One thing about Nills - don't rush it when you try to install! Their fit is VERY precise so if things aren't aligned just right they usually don't co-operate with the installer. Take your time and you'll do just fine.

Hello, I got one of the first pairs of Nill "Cokes" produced (N-frame, round-to-square). It took over 9 months to get them. Yes, they cost a boat load even back then. However, nothing will top them except for Keith Brown's grips. The Nill's are prefectly formed, and the checkering is nothing S&W could have ever done. The inletting fit will take a few minutes with an emory board, but once on the gun ("snap") there is no movement. Anyone who compares them to production grips such as Eagle or Ahrends has simply never had both in their hands. Eagle and Ahrends make great production grips, and you pay a lot less. If you want custom-grade "Cokes", these are it until you get to Keith's beauties. The Nill's come with a very thin coat of oil finish. Some almost look like well sanded bare wood. Mine were treated with a very light coat of low-lustre Tung Oil. Again, there is nothing wanting with the Nill's. If you can afford them, you will not be disappointed. E-mail me and I'll send you a photo. God Bless, Marc PS, No, I don't work for Nill.
