...from Nelson Ford. As usual, he did a spectacular job on the trigger. I also had him put on a ramp front sight. I really don't like the one with the flat rear surface.
I will try to find wooden grips for it as I also don't like rubber grips! The upcoming gun show will be the place to look, I guess.
Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the gun and ammo with a short range report.

Okay, here are the pictures!
The first two are of the revolver in its original configuration as it came from the factory.

As I mentioned, I don't like the Patridge style sight on a carry gun. I find the sharp edge snags on the holster I use with my carry system as well as possibly snagging my shirt. Also, if the barrel is a bit longer than the holster, this style of sight can actually prevent the revolver from being withdrawn entirely. So, I went with the old stand by red insert ramp style that I have used and liked since 1972.
It is hard to see, but Nelson also polishes and rounds the edges of the trigger to make a smoother engagement with your trigger finger and eliminate the abbraision that can happen with the sharp edges of a trigger.

Here is a close-up of my new front sight.

All I need now is a decent set of round to square wooden grips to replace the rubber ones. Did I mention I don't like rubber grips either?

Now that is what I am talking about....What did they do to the trigger besides polish it??? I like to have all my springs replaced with Wolf spring kits then have the internals stoned and polished......

Here is the final product. I happened to find a set of these Hogue wood grips out back to convert a round N frame to square. I'll have to try them to see if I like them when I shoot, but this should be the final iteration.

With regard to what Nelson did inside the gun; I consider it magic and not to be questioned!
He has worked on about 15 or so guns for me over the years and his work is uniformly superb. He does have a website you can find by searching his name on the web.

So I take it that front sight is not interchangable in the manner of the 629 Classics?

The Classic DX models had the spring loaded front sight, but the regular Classic models had pinned in front sights. The sights shown in these pics are pinned in. Weigand sells a retrofit sight base that would allow the use of the spring loaded front sights if one were inclined to go that route. http://www.jackweigand.com/interfs.html

Sheldon is correct; my sight is pinned in.
Oh, and I discovered something interesting last night while looking in my Brownells catalog. I was looking for speed loaders for my Model 27 and what did I see? Speed loaders for .45 Auto Rim!! Who would have thought! So I am ordering two of each today.
I never imagined you could get speed loaders for Auto Rim!
