I carry a 342ti, I practice alot with mid-load 38s, I dont want to shoot my 342 out. I have a mod 36 and sp101 357,would these be good subsitutes to train with and or which one would be most like the 342 for training? All shoot POA.

The Model 36 will be most like the 342 for training, although you should shoot it double-action-only to duplicate the action of the 342.

I sometimes use a Model 640 for training instead of my 342 carry gun. I'm not worried that a lot of shooting will wear out the 342; I'm worried that shooting the 342 a lot will wear out my hand!

Thanks, I almost always shoot my mod 36 DA, as the previous owner bobbed the hammer. She said it was so she could carry it in her boot, which was ok as I only paid $75 for it.
