I have a chance to buy a nice 66-6 Performance Center F Comp from a buddy, with the Perf. Ctr. Aluminum case for $500. I told him that I would take it today. I know I should have cleared it with you guys first, but I can't believe that it is not worth at least that, if not more. I can't find much price info on it, other than original MSR. Have you guys seen many? Any kudos or kicks in the rear for me?
Thank you. jb

I hope it does not have the lock . . . if not, you did good. I used to think my 586 L Comp for $600 was a good deal, because I sold the case for $75 and a holster for $100, rationalizing that the revolver cost me $475. Sold the grips and bought stags. The case had a broken lock! Anyway, I'm shooting mine and like it, the lock is defeated.

Good job! You would be dumb not to buy it for $500 (assuming excellent condition).

Thank you for the fast replies. I felt like I had to do it, and the action does feel smooth. It is great looking to boot. Again, I am not finding a whole lot of information on it, but everything is pointing to 66-6, which makes it a 2003, which puts me in the lock years, correct?

Beautiful gun. Thanks for showing. Thanks also for the add'l info. Sadly, mine did not come with any paperwork, but I am still glad to have captured it.

Bob K, I bought the gun slightly used and those grips came on it. I see it was advertised as haveing uncle mikes goodyears and thank god it didnt. Coincidently, right after I bought mine another gun shop had the same gun also slightly used with the same grips shown above of tipojons with the white diamound inlay. Those are the only 2 66-3s F comps I have ever seen! I havent seen a name on my grips. they are one piece and slide up on the grip frame and are screwed into a strip that is on the bottom of the grip frame. I am told my gun is one of 300 built for lew horton. Now I kind of think lew horton didnt get the intire 300, and dealers got some. I may try to get a letter.
That said, I think it is the best carry gun ever made! I do have to get my trilijon sight redone someday as they do and this has faded with time. I used to live in the night on my job but now retired so its no longer a big deal.

According to the catalog these retailed in 2003 for $798, so I'd say you did fine for $500.

Were those grips original with the gun? What kind of case did it some with? I assume it does not have a lock since it's a 66-4.

I love my 66-6 even if it does have the lock. When I picked it up I also got the electronic version of the 2003 catalog. Let me know if you want an email of the pdf.
