Could someone post a sight picture for an origional equipment fiber optic front sight and a replacement square notch rear? I am wanting to see how well the two will line up. It appears that the round fo front will be hard to accurately line up with a square rear? What do you think of this combination. I am trying to find the best setup for my 329PD

+1 to OKFCO5's suggestion. Scott Mulkerin's light pipe front sights have a rectangular profile for precise alignment when you need it and the light pipe for speed. The rear of his sights are finely serrated. They are available in red or green with heights of 0.250" and 0.300", either pinned or quick change.

engine26lt....I can't post a picture, but I can relate my experience with the change you want to do.
My 66-6 3" came with a fiber optic front and a V-notch rear. I just could not get used to the V, so I had a factory square notch installed. That combination works fine for me, and the rounded front sight presents no problem because it is the top of the front sight that needs to be aligned with the rear.
We all put different priorities on our firearms, and mine for this gun was not bullseye shooting, it was to shoot A-zone hits even while moving in IDPA matches.
The answer to your question, my opinion is that they line up just fine

Thanks for the advise. I think I will order a replacement blade and give it a try. Any comments on a .125 width wo blade?

Personally, I don't see white outline sights very well. I normally will make my own two-dot rear from a black blade.
Cylinder and Slide makes a set of lightpipe front and rear sights that work for me pretty well. Good visibility, and nice square edges for longer range precision. There's a set shown in this photo of my USPSA 625-4.

I am the voice in the wilderness here. I can't stand the dumb things. I tried, but could never satisfy myself that I was doing the right thing with those sights. I expect the younger fellows who can still see do better with them, but not me. I ended up replacing the front blade with a black ramp and a conventional square-notch black blade at the rear.
Someday I may put a red ramp in it, but for now, I am so happy to be rid of the OEM sights I am not in a hurry to change.

I paint over any WO to make it solid black. I have enough trouble remembering to look at the front sight without calling attention to the rear.
IMHO the SDM front and the plain square black rear are the fastest and most versatile combination.
