Just wondering if there are any 8 shot speedloaders out there? I know Safariland doesn't make any and I'm kind of surprised that HKS doesn't either.

I bought a 627 Pro from Panamajack and it's a great gun but I had never used moonclips before and found out that I can't stand dealing with them. If I can't find anyone who makes speedloaders I may have to scale back down to an L or K frame. Thanks.

I don't remember the name of them, but Dillon sales them. they are rubber and hold 8 rounds. check them out.
I love moon clips. You have to use the right cases. Like RP, Federal or star-line

What problem are you experiencing using the moonclips? Perhaps i can help.

I have used moonclips in my 686, 646, 610, 627 and 625 and i would never go back to sppedloaders except for IDPA matches. It's so much easier to load, unload the cylinder and pick up the brass than with speedloaders.

I just find it a hassle loading up the clips and then fighting to get the brass out. Actually using of the moonclips is outstanding. It's just the prep and unloading that's a pain.

I hear ya. I've shot thousands of rounds of .45ACP with monclips and loaded the clips by hand and unloaded 'em with a simple bent sheet metal tool, no big deal. Then I got a 627, and brother 8 round 38/357 clips are a whole different animal!

After chweing up my fingers and bending a few clips I wound up getting a tool from www.mooncliptool.com. It works great and is very well made. There are other tools from Dillon and Brownells but the mooncliptool works and IMO is more simply designed. I tried the rubber speedloaders with a 686+ and they didn't work well for me.

For the clips try the manufacturing source: Ranch Products in OH, they have the best price and are great people to do business with.

The maxfires are a little bit better than nothing, but not by much. I tried a pair when Dillon first started offering them and haven't touched them since.

I was new to moonclips starting on the 627 less than a year ago. I messed around with a number of home made and econo loaders.

Do yourself a favor and spring for the moonclip tool. Get all the arbors if you shoot the other calibers.

It's great.

And get plenty of moonclips for each revolver too.

Love 'em now. Never would have thought it could happen.
