Do these have the two piece barrel and MIM? I see the hideous lock. S&W should start making them like they used to. Bring back authentic 19s 66s, 10s 13s, etc.

Man, that's just SOOO close...

I've posted a 'coupla Mod 14's of late. I'm shooting 38 spl's again and really like the 6 & 8 & 3/8 inch Mod 14's.
I'm sure my used and NOS guns are cheaper to buy and there's one little thing about those new guns...

I'm sorry, I might get over it when they show up used at a cheaper price.

You can rant all you want. The lock may be gone in a few years (it actually adds cost to the gun), and two-piece barrels seem to be reserved for new K frames and Scandium guns (all aluminum and steel J, L. and N frames have one piece barrels), but MIM is not going away.

That looks really nice with the tapered barrel. If they'll just lose the lock they'll be there.

Something seems strange about the barrel of the new 14. Thinner? Or maybe the frame is an L frame? Can't quite get used to it.

They should be a good shooter, they look like the 14-3 from the PIC, but I'll judge it when I have one in hand to look at.

I've been looking at that photo of the 2008 K-38 for several days and have concluded that it is close, but no cigar.
Rounded frame at the top strap front, and the way the barrel meets up with the frame, along with too tall a front sight just doesn't sit right with me. I like wood grips that look like wood, not plastic wood.
In my opinion, they need to make the classics in the exact size and dimensions as the originals much like USFA's is doing with the Colts.
