Howdy all,
I picked up a 625 a few months back, and plan on doing a little ICORE shooting, but I need a good holster.
I went to the local gun shop - nothing but one size fits nothing nylon. I went to the local gun show - nothing to fit a 4" full lug with partridge sight.
So - what do you all like?
Thanks,
Bob

Hi, I use a leather Kramer vertical scabbard holster for my 4"N frame...I am on Del Fatti's waiting list for a custom holster and moonclip holder.

You cannot find a better holster for what you plan to do than Comp-Tac's belt holster for N frames. They make them to fit every length of N frame from 3 to 6.5 inches. They will deliver inside of a week in most cases and two at the most.
I have a pair of IWB Comp-Tacs (one for a J frame and one for an M&P) and they are the best Kydex holsters I have found.

I use a Speed Sec holster. You can get them from Shooter's Solutions.com, a great company to do business with. They run about $100 but you can put all your Smiths in the one holster no matter what the barrel length. or frame size.
I use it for my 627 in ICORE competition, My 625 for USPSA, my 617 and Modle 18 for S & Giggles.
Can't beat the diversity.

Amen to Comp-Tac. The owner / founder of the company is a personal friend and is a high class guy. Their quality and customer service can't be beat.
That being said, I have a Kramer horsehide holster for my 625. The Patridge front sight is a little rough on the leather; it tends to create shavings with each draw. I also have a Sickinger Austrian manufactured speed rig made for IPSC competiton. It's not really a holster, but an open frame that holds the muzzle and trigger guard. If I were starting from scratch, I would definately go with Comp-Tac.

I faced the same question a few months ago.
Didn't care for the various nylon or speed styles.
Had a local leather wrangler custom make a vertical draw that happens to fit N-frames just perfectly.
Custom belt and holster built to my specs cost me $100. And I'm really pleased with the end result.

I use a safariland holster for my 625JM for IDPA successfully. Have also used a Bladetech w/ good results. Both are good for games, but not real good for concealment.

Comp-Tac and Blade Tech pretty much own the competition market. Consider the Blade Tech Speed Rig...
Pro-SPro-Series Speed Rig Holster | Blade Tech | Holsters
Adjustable cant (shown w/muzzle forward), cut down front but still a full holster - not a skeletal speed holster (AA, CRSpeed, Ghost). If you are going to use an over/under belt system, get the Tek-Lok attachment. If you are using it on your pants belt, get the Stingray loop, which will allow you to bridge belt keepers for optimum holster placement. A North Mountain 4-post moon clip holder and you're all set. Have fun - be safe.
Adios,
Pizza Bob
