I have the chance to pick one up for $50, and was wondering if it has the problem with the firing pin bushing? (It is a 686 no dash 6 in.)
Thanks in advance!

$50?!? Buy it now! The no dash version is susceptible to the problem but it's easily fixed, and only shows up with certain types of ammunition. If there's an "M" stamped by the serial number it's already been modified. I've owned one since 1985 with no problems--I keep telling myself I should get it fixed.

$50???? Factory stocks go for that on ebay. That's more like a $400 gun.

Wow, that is a fantastic deal.

The best thing about the bushing repair is that if you call S&W, they will send you a shipping label to send it back for free.

If you are not buying it from a relative, I would check to make sure the gun is not stolen!!! If it isn't, then you did!

My neighbors brother in law passed away, and his sister in law wants the guns out of the house.
She was just going to give them to the local PD, but I talked her out of it.
