Thanks for the reply Seven.
Don`t see the SC on the site either, only the new Nite Guard.
Was the SC the "Mountain Lite" with 3" barrel?
Thanks, Pete

The Mountain Lite was the stainless version with a HIViz front sight. The PD was all black, with a red ramp front sight. Both had the Ti cylinder.

The gun mentioned by 7 for Sure is the 386 ScS which stands for scandium and stainless. It has a black SS cylinder and scandium/aluminum frame. With its 2.5" barrel, it weighs in at about 22 ounces. I got one when they first arrived last year and it's a fine carry gun. The new Nite Guard 386 is more or less the same with fixed sights.Bob

I'd have to check but I thought the order of introduction was:
386 SC (MountainLite)
386 PD
386 SC/S
386 NG
At least that is how they hit the shelves at my local shop.
The grips are the stock Hogue Bantam? The easiest way is to use the little wedge tool. If you call S&W they will send you one.
If not you can use a thick old credit cards at the bottom to pry the grip off the prong on each side and slide the entire grip off.

From my catalog collection they are all 7 shot L frames rated at .357, (though why anyone would shoot a magnum through such a short barrel is beyond me but that is another topic)
SC Mountainlite - ???
PD - Scandium alloy frame, titanium cylinder, adjustable sights, 17.5 oz
Sc/S - Sc alloy frame, stainless steel cylinder, hogue grips, adjustable sights, 21.1 oz
PD - C&S rear sight, XS front night site, synthetic grip with covered backstrap, 24.5 oz
I'm on a long term hunt for either the Sc/S or PD. If I found the Sc/S I would put the C&S rear sight on it and if I found a PD I would swap out the grips for the Hogue's.

I can help you with the description on the Mountain Lite, I have one and it is my every day carry revolver. Mine is a scandium frame, 2 piece barrel, titanium 7 shot cylinder, .357 Mag with a grey clearcoat finish. Here is a picture. Modifications include, charge hole chamfering, full action job, delocked, bobbed hammer, C&S extreme duty rear sight, XS standard dot front sight and not pictured are the hideout smooth grips from Brownells, which are fantastic.
