I'm purchasing a TRR8 and plan to use my Surefire x200 on it. Switching from an auto (SA Operator) to the wheelgun places the controls of the weapon light out of easy reach. I wondered if anyone has or is using an extended switch (http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main....rch_id=1281648 ) to activate their light. I note that Clint Smith in his demos has his light on constantly. I've been trained to use it momentarily if in a tactical search mode. If no one has tried this, guess I'll be first on the block and let you folks know what I think of it.

I'll be interested to see how it goes. Since the wire will need to cross the plane of the front of the cylinder I wonder whether it will need some protection from the blast.

I've thought of that too. In order to be protected it's going to have to remain centerline. The way they seem to do if for auto's is to attach the wire to a ridgid support, since those supports are model specific I have to wait until I place the light on the weapon to find out the distance, if there is one that will already work, there's my solution, if I have to use the loose wire, then I get to apply ingenuity. I'll let you know how it goes.

I use the X400 with the TRR8. Judging by the surefire website art it does not look like a very promising solution.

I keep waiting for some moron to post a picture of a severed thumb because he used that ridiculous auto pistol grip where the thumb is forward which would place it at the B/C gap. Naturally, the same moron will use a forward hold with the weapon mounted light in order to operate it like it is used on an auto. I am surprised S&W has not engraved a warning on the guns or been told by "legal" that they should not build them that way!
