Apologies for double dipping, but the first time i showed this gun in this thread, it had some nice but not spectacular sandalwood stocks on it. Some time after that pic was posted I connected with some Kurac RB -> SB conversion stocks in ebony. They look a lot better.

My 629-2 as stamped on the yoke. I'm trying to figure out using the SCSW just exactly what I have here but not having a lot of luck.
S/N BBNXXXX, I bought the gun second hand and it came with the Pachmayrs shown, no box or papers. Has a smooth combat width trigger. White outline rear, red ramp front. No porting.
Could this be a Lew Horton? I don't find any indication of it if it is.

I like the willingness of these owners above to customize their gun to their needs. Life is too short to endure too much compromise when it comes to a good gun.... that can be transformed into an awesome one. Clean Break

Here's my 629-3 Classic 5", at the time wearing a red dot sight. The stocks are aftermarkets purchased direct from S&W. I've since swapped the tube out for a Burris Fastfire II. Shoots great with my plinking loads!

A two month hiatus of a four year old thread? Seems minor enough:
Was going to scope it, but it has been outstanding with the iron sights. Great groups and meat taken off the hoof 50+ yards.
Unproven in the field, but it shoots well. Awfully shiney, though!

Grip frame, you like the 5" full underlug barrel. How does the red ramp front sight (which I have) compare with the vertical black one in various light conditions? CB

The black ramp sights on my two dx's have brass beads in the front. They are superior for daytime and target shooting and the brass bead picks up just about any light and equals the red ramp in usefulness for low light shooting.

This is my Model 629 Punxsutawney Phil Commemorative revolver. The Smith & Wesson Custom Shop put these together for the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. It came in a felt-lined wooden box, and only 41 of them were made. That's Punxsutawney Phil on the sideplate.
