Has anyone shot these 700 grain loads yet?
http://www.ballisticsupply.net/Defau...x?tabid=252105
I plan to order a box for my 8" 500, although it says that they won't work well for the snub nosed 500s under 4", so I guess I'll get the 600 grainers for my short barreled 500. And yes, these are to protect from the huge grizzly bears that have been roaming the hills of western AZ!

I have not shot the ones that Ballistic Supply loads, but I have shot my own 700 gr. reloads in both my 8 3/8 and 4 inch 500 Mag's. At 25 yards the 700 gr. bullets did well in my 4 inch 500 Mag.

I do not shoot them in my 2 3/4", but the 4" and longer have all shot it quite well.

That puny round pictured next to it is a factory Federal Cast Core 250 grain 41 Magnum hunting load

Heard a fella in Alaska shooting a big cow moose that was threatening his home/family...busted her in the face with it out of an H&R Handi Rifle, round traveled the length of her spine, exited the rump.
I haven't worked up to that load in my own rifle yet, but will get some. Just too many irons in the fire at the moment.
A T-Rex in the backyard sounds like a bigger problem than the Sabre Toothed Tigers and Mastodons being reintroduced with the wolves here in Idaho.......

I loaded a few hundred up and fired about 100 through my 4 inch. I think I bought mine from Ranger Rick if I remember correctly. Not much to report on them except that they were accurate out of the 4 inch @ 25 yds.

I'm not at all surprised to hear that a 700 gr. bullet from a rifle travelled the entire length of a moose. It was John Taffin, if memory serves me correctly, who shot a bison with a 454 Casull (300 gr. cast bullet) revolver and that bullet also travelled the entire length of the critter.
