I recently bought a 642 and it is a great gun but I was wondering if the trigger pull weight can be safely reduced? I am used to the M&P so the pull weight takes some getting used to and I tend to pull to the right. I understand that this will reduce with time and practice but a lighter pull would be nice.

You can dry fire the **** out of it. The trigger pull on mine became much smoother.Maybe my finger became stonger? Changing the spring would also help but you might have more ftf's.

I put a Wilson spring kit in mine. Dramatically improved the trigger and so far, no FTF.

I had Gemini Customs work my action over and retained the factory springs. It is as smooth as a babys butt and reliable with factory springs.

I don't think I would want the trigger pull to be any lighter. I don't like the idea of a loaded gun in my pocket with a light trigger that close to my junk.

That being said, the factory trigger on my 642-1 is quite smooth.
