Did S&W sell revolvers with the Pachmayr gripper as original equipment? I see so many of these "K" frame revolvers with the Pachmayr or with a Pachmayr without the logo.
Just don't like those Pachmary's. To me they don't
feel right and it's my opinion they are ugly. Maybe
people use them so much because they are cheaper
than most other grips. Don
So is the final answer. "S&W never sold a revolver with Pachmayr or Pachmayr unmarked grips?"
I picked up this 19 today from a pawn shop for $285. I had just refinished this old set of Herret target grips and I think they look good on there and they feel great as they are not quite as large as a S&W target grip.

Well, that is almost correct. There is one model I'm aware of that came from the factory with Pachmayr Grippers. It was a model 625 (.45 ACP) produced in the late 1980s. There may be some other guns that were shipped with Pachmayr grips, but this 625 is the only one I recall seeing.
The rubber grips used by S&W from the 1990s forward were either Uncle Mikes or Hogue.
