Default Finally, A 627

Been looking for one of these for a while now to "complete" my collection of six inch stainless .357's. It is the Model of 1989 627, with the unfluted cylinder. I have a 66, a 686, and will soon have this, so I think I have the Smiths covered.

Not my pics, I'll take some when it arrives.

Man those are some nice looking revolvers..Are they the 6 shot version of the 627? I like the full lug look and unfluted cylinder.

Yes, they are six shot. Seems to me that Smith did a few different models of 1989 that were unfluted, but I really don't know a lot about them. I do know that the 627 is difficult to find though!!

The 627-0 has a 5.5" barrel and I believe it is the last Smith that had the checkered top strap. If it isn't the last, it was the next to last! There were about 5400 made. They show up for sale every so often here. It seems we don't see them for quite some time, and then there are two or three in a row. They are very nice shooters.

It's here, and I'm jazzed. Won't get the chance to shoot it for a couple days though. Massive cylinder on this thing.
