Question 686 plus 2 1/2 bbl VS 686 plus 3 inch

I have a 686 plus 4 inch now and would like to pick up another 686 plus in a snubbie... I look at pictures you people post of a 2 1/2 and I start getting all hot and bothered and say to myself "That's the one" Then I look at some pictures of a nice 3 inch one and I get all giddy again... This time of the year being a shorts and T-shirt guy I carry one or two J frames in Kramer pocket holsters but when cold weather comes and the jeans and jackets are worn I want to carry a 686... What are the advantages of one over the other? Later, Dave

IMO the 3 inch is the way to go. You gain 1/2 inch in sight radius and the ejector rod has a long enough stroke to fully eject 357 Magnums.

IMO there isn't that much difference. Buy which ever one becomes available first.

I seriously dislike the short ejector rods on 2 1/2" .357, so 3" is my choice.
As far as carrying a 686, the extra 1/2" of barrel is not the problem; it's the grip and the width of the cylinder.

The Key difference with me is the ejector rod. I like the longer ejector rod on the 3" barrels.
