When did S&W start shipping product in the plastic blue boxes/cases?

According to SCSW-3, 1997. However, I bought a gun in 1996 which came in the blue plastiuc box.

There was a 586-4 from 1995, that just recently sold in the classifieds here, that came in one. It was in the picture with the gun, papers etc., and it labeled to the gun.

I'd love to have 3-4 of those small little blue plastic boxes the mid 90s J Frames came in myself, there small enough to fit in the upper section of my gunsafe were the newer larger ones will not fit, Plus I have 3 mid 90s J Frames that came with no box & a 3913NL..
For now they'll have to stay in the little gun rugs I have for them..
If anybody has any of these they'd like to get rid of please contact me, And palmetto99 I didn't mean to hijack your thread, That's a great question..
I would also say Mid 90s around 1995-1996..

HEADKNOCKER, no problem. I wouldn't mind having a few for storage my self.

I was thinking mid 1990's. My 60-9 came in one and it was a new gun purchase. That was around 1996.

I remember seeing a WTB Blue Plastic Boxes a while back in the classifieds & the buyer got what he wanted..
I should do this when the finacial advisers are looking down on me a bit better than they are currently..
I realy liked those small little cases plus they fit in your range bag nice but them fitting in the upper section of my safe is why I want like 5 of them..
