I'm looking at some pix on here of various revolvers with reddot sights. Some are 6" barrels and it got me thinking. Is there any advantage to a longer barrel once you've stopped using the front/rear sights? Wouldn't the advantage, if you're using reddots, be in the best balanced revolver?
Using slower powders, my experience is that cartridge performance drops 50-75fps per inch of barrel. I would expect +100fps lower in a 4" vs 6" revolver. Important? That's up to you.
