need recommendations 3" Jframe holster for a woman
Need recommendations for a holster for a 3" model 60 for the wife. Pickings are pretty slim so I am seeing if anyone has a suggestion I haven't seen yet. Holster will be specifically for trail carry / camping. Open carry is not a problem on the properties we will be on. Need full coverage and strap retention. Considering a Desantis leather pancake. Any other ideas? Thanks.

If you really love your wife-why don't you get her one from El Paso-get them to engrave it with roses. If you really aren't into that love thing, or you just don't want to spend that kind of money on your wife-go to the next gunshow and look in the back and find the guy that's selling the cordura Uncle Mike knock-offs for $10 and get her one of those.

Nice work and prices aren't bad as long as you stay out of the exotics. But don't see what I am looking for. Wanting something specifically molded for a 3" jframe. Thanks for the reference though.

Stay away from a straight draw; high ride holster for a woman and a 3" bbl gun. Her hip profile will push the gun into her ribs. She won't wear that holster long.
Kramer makes a good holster for a woman's particular needs. Might also consider a cross draw or appendix carry, strong side. Mitch Rosen also makes a nice womans' holster. Joni Lynn or Barb may jump in any time and offer a comprehensive suggestion.

OK great info Bronco45 and exactly opposite of what I was thinking. I was assuming you needed to get the gun up off her hip. Perhaps a low riding sport holster would be better. She still wants strap retention though and thumbbreak would be preferred. I will start looking for that.

Crossdraw holsters have a lot to offer in the way of carrying comfort as well as good access (better than strongside when in a vehicle).

Groo here
I just got holsters from Simply Rugged for my 3in 65, my 3in M-60 pro,
and some for my nieces SP101 3in..
They can be vertical ,crossdraw or inside the pants and
they will put a safty strap on them if you want.
I have ridden horses and in the pancake I can see little need for
a strap unless you have ruff stock.
