Default Marked model 64

This morning I picked up a model 64 and on it's back strap it is marked Mass. RMV.

I was wondering if anyone knew what that stood for?

Thanks

Mass RMV had their own police dept that got merged into the MA State Police in '91. Nice gun, lots of collectors around here'd love to get it.

WOW, I got lucky finally, now I will have to buy a camera. I paid $300.00 to a retired State Patrolman (Wisconsin) I know for it. He thought at first it was a Baltimore PD gun.

How in the world did he figure "Mass. RMV" could represent "Baltimore PD"??????

I have a gun marked "Utah Highway Patrol #12" I think its an old NYPD gun....

Dave is a pretty decent guy, after he retired he ran a security company and armed his guys with police trade ins, my guess is that he bought a bunch of 64s and some were from Baltimore and some were the RMV ones.
