505Gibbs, I've been considering picking up a set of the Nill "Cokes" for a 27-2 I purchased with an ugly set of non original grips. How do you like them?

I have a set of Nil "cokes" on my 686-6. Aside from looking uber cool, these grips are just incredibly comfortable. The highest complement I can pay to any set of grips is that I don't notice them when I'm shooting.

Sorry I don't have a digital camera -probably couldn't figure out how to post pictures if I did have one. Maybe some day.

Anyway, I have a pair on my 629-3 Classic DX. They look like sza's 4-gun picture, bottom right; except that they are a round-to-square butt conversion. My only complaint is that they didn't have smooth ones available. The wood looks nice, but only above that rough section which covers most of the grip. Don't know why they feel like shooters can't hold on unless they do that to the grip. Oh, well.

Finding them's no problem. Just google "Nill Grips" and their website pops up immediately. The site's in German but there's an "English" option to link to. They'll happily accept your online order. Just be patient, it took me about 2 months to get delivery of mine, and I understand that some people wait longer than that.

It took 2 months to get yours? When I placed the order today it said my order would ship out in 2-5 working days......Hmmm.....How long ago was it that you ordered them? Maybe they have sped up production since then.

Thumbs up

2 month's wait is pretty typical. Your grips may very well ship out in 2-5 business days but they are coming from Germany and will have to go through US customs which can take quite awhile. Well worth the wait.

On a side note, I believe that Nill grips are the fines handgun grips made. I do not know how they are able to do it but the grips they make are unbelievably precise. On most of their grips, you cannot even feel the seem between the two halves. Truly works of art and worth the price.

I ordered mine back in March and got them in May. It might depend on what one orders. They offer such an enormous array that, perhaps, some items are in stock and others are made to order. But, as I said, the wait was worth it! I'm presently in the market for a model 36 (or, perhaps a 60) and may consider putting a set of their J-frame grips on it when I get it.
