I saw two M66 4"ers at the gunshow sunday for $200ea
They had what looked like a small flashlight in the end of the barrel & was drilled & pinned in, also the forceing cone was cut off of both & the hammer mounted fireing pin was removed.. My buddy & I were looking at them & the seller stated they were old training revolvers for the state police. They were both no dash & square butts.. That ported gun looks just like the two I saw except for the Bubba porting, packy grips & they had adjustable sights.. Some guys will tell you a mod like that costs $300 & this is a steal for thier asking price.. "I'd Be Afraid!! VERY AFRAID!!" Run AWAY!! Gary/Hk And like your "signature" Says.. I won't buy any gun that has an internal lock either this includes HK Taurus etc What was so wrong with the little blue master lock in the case or the HUGE Padlock that Ruger now offers?? I likes the looks of Rugers Locks.. Beefy.. Ha Ha... I always wonder if these Bozos look threw these forums.. Lets see, If we drop the MIM parts, two piece barrels, Our Wonderfull Frame Mounted Safety Lock & increase our quality controls we might have more money in the guns but they will sell again?? "A No Brainer for Me" Plenty of Good "OLD" Smiths out there to make me happy, "For Now" Till They All Dry Up.. Then the ones I have will be worth a premium!!

If otherwise in good shape, the barrel on the model 65 is long enough to shorten to remove the "customization". I'd lower my offer accordingly.
Headknocker-the "flashlight" in the barrel was an old version of a laser transmitter for force on force drills with a sensor vest to register hits. You don't mention the cylinder. The cylinders on this system had brass pins inset into them to prevent a live round from chambering. The blanks that operated the system were plastic cased and about the length of a .38 S&W case. If the cylinder doesn't have the brass pins, the cylinder was changed, possibly not fitted. Work on the forcing cone hints that the weapon was neglected and the battery/sensor that went there (retained by a snap ring) rusted shut. Removal of the firing pin????? Dunno. |

I will buy Smiths with the lock. I don't see what the big deal it. They can be removed if they bother you.
