I use Renaissance Wax. Also Flitz and Mothers mag polish is good.

Personally, I think Mother's is too abrasive.
In all cases, be very careful when using any metal polish, since they are all abrasive and used too much or too hard they will thin or damage plated finishes.
A metal polish should only be used to try to restore the looks of a nickel finish that's gotten cloudy. It will only further damage a thin or flaking or scratched finish.
For normal maintenance, wipe with a lube like CLP Breakfree, or apply a good wax. NOT auto wax. Many of them contain abrasives to polish paint and will damage bluing and plating.

As mentioned, Mother's Mag is too abrasive for nickel, but great for stainless steel. I've had good luck with Flitz used very sparingly and very lightly on nickel. Don't overdo it....go slow. Follow up with a nice coat of Renaissance Wax. You will be surprised how much nicer it will look.

Semichrome seems to be slightly more abrasive then Flitz.

Polishing
I have used Mothers for years with no issues--I use gentle pressure and the end of my finger, then follow with microfiber--works great for me--like they said, whatever you're using, don't get aggressive. It will shine SS like chrome if you want to go that far.

Last I heard polish cleans and wax protects. Do your regular cleaning followed up with polish, then Wax. That's how the oldtimers showed me way back when

Sure, used Simichrome on two 32 DA's, one in blue, one in nickel
The blue had light rust freckling, and the nickel had chipped/missing
plating. In both cases, the Simichrome did fine. Used wax after cleaning it off. May be too abrasive if used for too-heavy a job, but
it worked well for me. TACC1

I use Mothers Chrome Polish with fine results. Note it is Chrome polish and not Mag polish. I just worked over a M25 I picked up and the before/after results are great.
