Speaking from ignorance because I have never tried it, I would guess that ejector rods from third model K-22s made before the 1960 thread change would work in both the first and second models. But I would consider doing so just a stopgap measure until a proper ejector rod could be found for an earlier gun that needed it -- most third model ejector rods don't have the knob at the end. And the few thousand third models with the knob (all 1946 and 1947 production, I believe) use a knob profile slightly different from the first and second models.
So I don't know, but that obviously hasn't kept me from speaking to the subject.
