Default Sticky Trigger

A few months ago I posted about the unfired pre-27 I bought for a song. That's what got me reintroduced to S&W and on this site, plus in subsequent weeks I picked up a Victory and K22 as well.

Well, she has a few hundred rounds through her now and today I had a glitch at the range. After firing, the trigger would not return to the normal forward position unless I manually pushed it forward. When I got home I removed the grips and squirted oil inside from the back, plus up through the trigger guard. It seems to work perfectly again now. I did that as a temporary expedient since I was not comfortable removing the side plate, never having done that before.

Is there anything else I should do?

Take it to someone that is familiar with S&W revolvers. Squirting oil inside is not going to fix (repair) anything.

Sounds like your rebound slide is restricted. I might be due to lack of lubrication, which is why your relubing it helped. I agree with ken158 though, you should take it to someone who can show you how to remove the sideplate and properly clean and lube the internals.
