All,
I have a project revolver in J-frame that I am working on and wonder what is involved with converting it to 9mm. I more so wonder if any thing needs done with the barrel as it is about to head off to SW to have a new full lug .38 barrel installed. Thanks in advance.
If it's heading off to S&W anyway I'd sure ask them about having both the cylinder and barrel changed out. A real 9mm cylinder is better than a reamed 38/357 cylinder if they're available.
I had my 637 converted to 9mm moonclips by TK Custom. It was over a year ago, and the cost was $225. It took 10 days from the time I sent off the cylinder until I had it back. The work was great; the chambers are polished mirror smooth and I have never had an extraction problem.
