Default Do M&P slides need fitting?

I'm thinking about buying a 9mm M&P and then seeing if I can get a long slide from the factory. ( I can't buy the long slide version in my state :-(((Wondering if I'd have to send teh gun into them to get this accomplished. MIght make the whole thing non-cost effective.
Thoughts/experience?

The day I make 30 years in my job ( 10/28/2015) I'm done and out of here. Until then, I have to play by the rules as idiotic as they are.

Shouldn't be any fit problems, they're pretty much meant to be thrown together. It's to bad S&W doesn't see the advanage to selling complete 9 & 40 Pro uppers. To buy the slide, barrel and sights would probably run about $400 and you'd still have to transfer your striker and extactor.

Midwayusa sells slides with sights. Just full length and compacts right now but could the Pro length slides be far behind?
