You know how some of the new, lightweight J frames come with a lanyard slot/pin milled in the back of the backstrap?? Other than the usual admonition against destroying a collector revolver, it seems like a relatively simple modification that would add the ability to lanyard a revolver without drilling a hole in the serial number and having the lanyard swivel hanging down from the frame.....
I did a search...but has anyone done it yet?? Here is a pic of what I have in mind....anyone know any good reason it won't work???

My S&W #317 AirLite .22 and #331TI .32 H&R magnum both have that feature and I have cell phone lanyards on them.

I have a couple of machine shops on my mail route. I will ask those guys if they could mill a slot and fit a pin in the backstrap and about what it would cost.
