Default First grip refinish with pics...

I posted a few days ago about how to refinish a set of grips and got nothing so I went to my local woodworking supply store and started asking questions about refinishing a set of grips I recently bought here.

After some fine grain sandpaper and a couple coats of Tung oil, this is what they look like. I think a couple more coats within the next 2 days and they will be awesome.

How did I do.....

Before....

After

Inside without flash....

Are you sanding with steel wool or anything between coats?
Looking good!

Default Steel wool

Yes, what I read initially was that you could, but did'nt have to unless the oil picked up alot of dust.

Then I read that you use the steel wool to help with adhesion of of the next coat.

So I did just to be safe.
