Default Ejector Star for 38/44HD ?

I'm looking at a very used 38/44HD post war model that has damaged teeth around the rachet. The gun also has sideplay, and endshake. Do any other S&W 38spl/357 revolvers have the same ejector star/rachet that would fit an HD?

Default star for 38/44

I am not a gunsmith, but I will comment on what I have seen. The .357s in the early years were recessed. I don't know if the newer star would fit. A short time ago, Gunparts, Numerich, NY, had some older stars for N frames that could be had. I bought one for possible use in the future. They would have to be reamed out for the proper caliber. They may still have a few more. They were listed as factory oversized stars for the earlier N frames. Bob in Tx

rjh, I found one that will fit. Thanks for the info. The rachet teeth are like creset moons on the old one, and timing is an issue. This will be one fix, but it will take more work to bring the old girl back to light duty.
